System Design

The system design and implementation process is fairly straightforward and relatively quick, but with any construction project, planning is key. Prior to creating a formal Solar Assessment Report for review, a thorough site survey is performed at the property. In this comprehensive survey, we'll contract with licensed electricians to define systems locations, mounting methods, wire conduit paths, maintenance access, and balance of system placement areas.
We seek to identify any problematic conditions before committing to the final design. Any structural enhancement or repairs that are required will be addressed prior to the project start.
As with any construction project, coordination of resources is critical to an efficient installation. The installation team assumes full responsibility to schedule all of the activities from code inspectors to final system commissioning. In cases where the construction impacts your operations or traffic flow, we'll secure an appropriate staging area for material and equipment.
We handle the preparation and filing of all of the documentation involved in a new solar power system. From construction permits and utility interconnection agreements, to rebate applications and warranty registrations, we make it simple. For the uninitiated, the paperwork can seem overwhelming. We know the process and we've streamlined it so our clients don't need to worry about it.
After a solar power system has been commissioned, its operation is virtually hands-free. We teach our clients to understand the various components so they can identify any issues that could affect system performance or energy output. With the web based monitoring option, we'll oversee the health of the system to ensure maximum productivity and uptime.
In addition to excellent product warranties, we guarantee our workmanship with an unconditional 5 year onsite support program. If anything goes wrong with the system, we'll fix it. We inspect your system every four months to monitor its condition and rectify any abnormal wear and tear.
The solar panels need very little attention beyond cleaning them periodically. Simply hose down the panels every few months to remove any dust or airborne debris buildup. For some components such as batteries or inverters, a scheduled replacement program will be defined in the initial agreement.
Project Milestones
After an initial discussion of your objectives and property, we'll review your electricity consumption patterns and projections, and conduct a site survey.
With that information, we can develop a Solar Assessment Report which will include system design options and plans, financial investment and return data, and construction timetables.
Plans are reviewed with client, permitting officials and related subcontractors. Upon final approval, permits are filed, installation is scheduled and materials are procured.
Final schematics are developed and a complete package of system engineering documentation is prepared. Included are installation diagrams, full product data sheets, operational instructions and warranty documents.
With final plans in hand, a contract is prepared detailing the system costs, installation timeframe and payment schedule. We'll assist with financing through our network of lenders and PPA partners.
Commissioning solar power systems is an exciting milestone where we start to generate electricity from the sun for your use. It follows the final municipal and inspections. We explain all of the system components to your facility managers, and teach them to identify normal or abnormal system operating conditions.
Most systems are equipped with remote monitoring systems so your staff or ours can easily track system productivity and performance. Should anything need attention, the monitoring systems give us the info we need to resolve issues quickly.
